Aisle Say: Save the Dates!

Wedding planning is in full swing with 6 months left for the big day! This is one of those times I am thankful for having a super laid back personality, because I know I would be a wreck otherwise. Although I booked the important stuff like my venue and photographer early on, stuff seems to just creep up on you! Don't forget to add the bijillion decisions that need to be made daily (invitations, cake, silverware, chairs, linen, flowers, dresses). It can be so easy getting caught up on what you think other people will like, but if I have learned anything from the million wedding blog post I've reviewed, it's to stay true and original to yourself and your fiancé! After all, it is a celebration of the TWO of you!

So one of those many decisions are the save the dates. I guess I consider myself an over-thinker, and this is one of those things that I over thought! lol but after much consideration and the help of my amazing Fiancé, we went for a simple card, and I am so happy we did! We purchased ours on shutter fly with a 50% off coupon, but their are many beautiful options on minted , weddingpaperdivas, and some free downloads on weddingchicks. You could even opt for a custom one on etsy

Since we decided on going basic, we chose two different styles. Both are very different but equally beautiful :)

This summer has been one for the books! (like seriously, I'm thinking about making little shutterfly books for all of my adventures lol) If you follow me on any social media, you already know that I got ENGAGED to the love of my life! I can't even describe how perfect everything went down. Like when people ask me how it happened, I feel like I can't do it justice. Just know that I am one very happy girl!
Along with turning 23 (my Michael Jordan/hero year), Joshua, my fiancé flew me out to Alaska with his family, and we had the best time e.v.e.r. to say the least. We went exploring in Denali National Park and saw caribou, moose, and even a grizzly bear with her cub! We went white water rafting, gold sifting, and visited Santa at the North Pole no lie. The day before we left Joshua took me to the most beautiful park in Eagle River, Alaska and asked me to marry him. I cried, and then laughed...really hard, and then we took some pictures that give me extreme joy every time I look at them.
How He Asked. com contacted me through instagram to share our story, so here is the link along with a more detailed story and video that Josh made.
And below are a couple of my favorite pictures from Alaska-oh and I'm going to throw one
in of my birthday outfit, because I think MJ would be proud!

I'll be posting more tidbits about my summer soon, and some wedding planning stuff! I can't wait to share with you all! xo for now

Summa Summa Summa

Dress: Asos / Clutch: Ivanka Trump / Watch: Fossil / Shoes: Charlotte Russe

Summer break has officially started, and I'm still amazed at how fast this school year has gone by! Teaching has definitely taught me a lot but mostly patience! A kindergartner came up to me the last day of school, handed me some treat, and said she was looking forward to next year. Those are the kind of things that just melt my heart! I am truly blessed to have the job that I have, and I can't wait for next year! Here's to a much needed summer break filled with cute summer dresses, beaches, picnic, cookouts, and adventure! I'll be doing some traveling this summer, and I can't wait to share my wanderings with you all! Thank you for reading <3 xoxo

Cartagena, Colombia

Trying something different, and I'm adding captions throughout this blog post. Let me know what you think?

So, we jumped off our cruise boat and landed in paradise a.k.a. Colombia.

It's pictures like these that show the true culture of Latin american countries. I am so envious of the simplicity of life in these types of countries. Life just moves slower, unlike our too busy to do anything (including this blog haha) american life.

Futbol goal an essential symbol of Latin American countries.

Looked for Shakira... couldn't find her

Viejo (Old town) Cartagena was unbelievably charming! Just look at these houses, vines, flowers, architecture...gaaahhh. Just breathtaking!

I would've liked this picture a lot more if these people would've moved out of the way :p

Two pigeons snuggling close to one another made me miss my Josh.

She's the cutest for reals.

Can I live here??????

Ok people, so this is the genuine COLOMBIAN emerald my dad got me, because he simply is the best. My mom also got one, but her taste is much grander than mine. I'll have to upload the pic sometime or maybe I'll just post it on insta.

Like I said before, my Dad is the best and is also hilarious. I can do a mighty fine impression of him if you ask, and I promise you'll leave laughing. xoxo
