Chicago Fashion Week - Taking it to the streets

I was so excited to be a part of Chicago Fashion Week this year. The first fashion show, Taking it to the streets, had an emphasis on "Street Style" and featured ten collections. Sarah Stevenson from the Toronto Fashion Incubator and Christine Phung from the Atelier de Paris, an Incubator program in Paris. The local Chicago designers included: Lagi Nadeau, Shelby Steiner, Agnes Hamerlik, Randall Hill, Laura Takataka, Nicole Puszynski, J. Toor, Chicago Playground. Here are some of my favorite looks! Enjoy!

Oxblood Obsession

My absolute favorite color for fall is oxblood/burgundy. To change the usual color scheme up, I paired my oxblood faux leather skirt with a periwinkle top and accessorized with gold. So can I tell you my obsession with gold and cap toe shoes! I'm just in love with anything metallic especially gold! I got my first pair of gold shoes when I was five from Puerto Rico, and I was hooked ever since... but the rest of my obsession will be on another post ;)

Best of Beautiful Barcelona

This summer, I was able to visit Europe and take a cruise on the Mediterranean with my family. As you can imagine, I was so ecstatic to visit the places I’ve always dreamed of visiting. This past year has been exceptionally difficult and trying time for my family, and my parents (wisest people I know) planned this trip for our family. It was the anticipation and excitement leading to this trip that helped me along many difficult experiences. As silly as it may sound, I was a very hurt person and this trip was the only exciting thing that I could look forward to at that point in my life.
As a Christian, I know that it is through the very sad and heavy times in your life that God becomes the very evident light in the darkness. This was true for me, and I hope it can be true for you too. Without my faith and trust in God, I know I wouldn’t have the rejuvenated spirit I have now. Of course the healing process takes time, but it’s a very attainable healing with Jesus Christ!
Back to Barcelona- Barcelona was our first stop to our amazing journey. I speak Spanish, but this whole lisp thing kind of caught me off guard in Spain. The streets were so old romantic looking, I didn’t even want to blink strolling down them! The Gothic quarter including the cathedral, La Sagrada Familia is to die for, and Park Guell feels like being in Candy Land without the candy! La Bouqeria- Best fresh fruit smoothie you will ever taste! Let’s not forget the FCBarcelona stadium; Just getting to be where Messi(undeniably the best soccer player of all time) plays was thrilling! Please live vicariously through these photos and enjoy the Best of Beautiful Barcelona! Don’t forget to follow!

Falling in Love with Leopard / / Leather

Hat: Charming Charlies / Jacket: Wilson's Leather / T-shirt: tourist store in Hollywood / skirt: target / booties: target(recent) / arm candy: Betsey Johnson
Yay! Fall is finally here! Although I am sad that my ridiculously amazing summer is over, I can't help but love the scenic views of the leaves changing colors, pumpkin scented everything, and layering, layering, layering. My so comfy Hollywood t-shirt is from my summer trip to sunny California to visit one of my best friends. Who by the way is incredibly witty and the author of this amazing blog, http://honestlymodest.wordpress.com/. What are your favorite things about fall? Feel free to comment below!

Can I Kiss Your Feet?

dress: asos / shoes: TjMaxx
So, you're probably thinking why the title? While I was shoe shopping at the department store trying on a fantastic pair of Steve Maddens, an elderly(around sixty) man approached me complimenting my shoes. He was holding a pair of woman sandals, so I just thought it was a friendly compliment until he whispered "Can I kiss your feet"?......I was speechless....until I came to my senses and said "NO" and ran away as fast as I could! Today, something similar happened again. A man opened up a pair of socks and asked if I could try them on. What?! Is this a common thing? Has this ever happened to you? Please comment below!
Interesting facts:
1. Elvis had a well documented foot fetish, stemming from having to massage his mother's feet as a child.
2. Women with size five feet are most attractive to men.
3. You can consider being a foot model if you're size 5 or smaller.

Class of 2013

Like most young people going into college, I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do with my life. I did know that I wanted to do God's will for my life and Hyles-Anderson College was that for me. After my first semester, I took a double major in Education: Secondary Education in English and Elementary Education. After 3 1/2 years, I successfully completed my Bachelors of Science Degree in Education. I wouldn't change my college years for a million bucks. I found my dream man, loyal friends, and a passion for the work of Christ and eventually teaching! I now have my dream job as a 1st grade teacher at a Christian Academy and currently working on my Masters at Liberty University Online. God gives you the desires of your heart, and He has proved this to me over and over again. Shout out to my most amazing parents, who without there guidance, love, support, and help, I KNOW I wouldn't have completed college! I'm extremely indebted to them. I'll leave you with my life verse.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9

New Year 2013 / / Puerto Rico

I was able to welcome the new year in my beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I am very proud of my puertorican heritage and culture My Grandma was one of thirteen girls in her family along with only one brother who unfortunately was named Flor {english translation- flower} Horrible...I know! Ironically, he works as a gardener and has the most beautiful gardens around his home. Anyways, I have a lot of family in Puerto Rico to say the least.
My boyfriend, Josh, was able to visit for the first time. It was so exciting getting to share this incredible island and personal memories with him.
Beautiful island. Beautiful man. Beautiful life.
